About This Waterfall

Sagfossen is visible from the E134 on the south side of Rullestadvatnet and are difficult to miss. Ample parking to view the falls can be found at Rullestad Camping. Further, it appears a footbridge crosses the stream below the falls, but where the trail begins from is not known.Sagfossen is a name common to dozens of waterfalls in Norway. This particular one is a large waterfall visible across Rullestadvatnet from the E134 as one heads west from Odda to Haugesund. The falls drop a total of about 365 meters (1,195 feet) in about five distnct steps, three of which are large and very prominent, with some smaller cascades interspersed in between the larger drops. The first two tiers of the falls are nearly vertical, with a portion of the stream being funneled off to the side of the upper tier, forming a second parallel segment of the fall that mirrors the main channel’s three steps (though this second channel may disappear during periods of lower discharge).
