About This Waterfall
Sherman Falls is the lowest in the series of falls found within Trenton Falls Gorge along West Canada Creek. In the past Sherman Falls, along with the majority of the waterfalls in this run of West Canada Creek were collectively referred to as Trenton Falls, as well as each being individually named. For the purposes of this website, Sherman Falls is itself too far separated from the rest of the falls in the gorge to be grouped together with the other drops, so it should be thought of as a separate entity. The name of this waterfall stems from John Sherman, who became the first private owner of the land surrounding the falls in 1822.
