About This Waterfall
Skålefossen is the unofficial name for a long series of braided cascades that tumble down the bare rock left in the wake of the retreat of the Skålebreen in Bødalen. The falls drop approximately 400 meters (1,310 feet) over a linear run of about 900 meters, giving the falls an overall rather gradual pitch.
