About This Waterfall
Triple Creek features a series of small but fairly pretty waterfalls a short distance above where it merges with the South Fork of the Stilliguamish River near the town of Verlot. Starting out, the creek splits around a sharp, craggy rock outcrop and drops 22 feet in two channels, with the falls spreading out to over 50 feet in width. Just downstream the second drop plunges a sheer 27 feet after the creek makes a sharp Z-shaped double bend. The third drop is a narrow flume which falls about 8 feet and splits into twin channels when the creek is running high, followed by a 5 foot drop in a narrow section of the gorge which then leads into the final 22-foot fan-shaped fall. Each individual section of the falls is separated from the next by about 50-100 linear feet of stream, and while it is very difficult (if not impossible) to see more than one drop from any angle, all of the tiers are close enough that they should be considered one collective set of falls rather than individual entities.
