About This Waterfall
The Muddy Fork of the Cowlitz River drops over a fall or series of falls at this location, dropping perhaps 30-40 feet in total at the head of a narrow canyon. However because the river has heavily eroded the side of the valley immediately above the falls in the last decade, an enormous logjam has been deposited on top of the falls, effectively covering it from view. It may one day be revealed again, but it will likely take multiple floods of nearly biblical proportions to move all of the logs which currently obscure the falls.
