About This Waterfall
Upper Yellowstone Falls marks the very beginning of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone River, where its namesake plunges a sheer 109 feet into a huge bowl. The river is so forcefully squeezed over this waterfall that the base of the falls actually stretches nearly 100 linear feet away from the very top of the falls, despite the falls having effectively a sheer 90 degree drop.
