Weeping Wall

This falls can be found 18-½ km south of the Columbia Icefields Center along the Icefields Parkway in Banff National Park. The feature is marked by a brown wooden sign pointing at the falls. A short but steep trail leads to the base of the falls across from the pullout.Weeping Wall is the name applied to a series of highly seasonal snowmelt-fed waterfalls which stream down huge cliffs adjacent to the Icefields Parkway where it passes Cirrus Mountain near Big Bend in the northern reach of Banff National Park. The streams which form the falls have extremely small drainage areas, and as such only flow for a couple months out of the year. Once the winter snow has melted off the falls are reduced to wet stains on the cliff face - usually flowing strongest in May and generally dry or close to dry by August.
The falls consist of three primary streams which fall parallel over the two-stepped cliff. Topographic maps suggest the total drop of the falls is around 360 meters (1180 feet). We were only able to accurately measure the lower tier, which stands 130 meters (427 feet) tall itself, so assuming the topographic data is correct and assuming a talus runout between the two drops is present, the upper tier should stand around 185 meters (600 feet) tall.
