About This Waterfall
The falls are on the east side of Route 100, about 4.7 miles north of Granville. There is a small turnout on the west side of Route 100 to park. It's only big enough for one vehicle, but you'll most likely have the place to yourself.Sharp eyed observers heading south along Route 100 will notice a fairly substantial waterfall out the left window a short ways north of Moss Glen Falls. I made the short walk of a few hundred feet through the woods and found a reasonably photogenic waterfall, close enough to the road to make a short trip worth the effort. The unnamed tributary of Alder Meadow Brook makes a leap of 19 feet into a small pool then meanders off to its long winding descent into the depths of Granville Gulf. If you're making a trip to nearby Moss Glen Falls and Little Moss Glen Falls nearby, you won't be wasting your time taking a look at this little waterfall. Topographical maps suggest that there is likely a string of drops above this, but time was budgeted so I didn't explore further.I named the falls in reference to the valley in which they're found.
