About This Waterfall
Krekafossen is a series of steep cascades along the Åsetelvi located downstream from the more well known Drivandefossen as it tumbles down into Morkrisdalen from Åsetevatnet. The falls have a total drop of approximately 150 meters (490 feet) depending on where the top and bottom of the falls are spotted (the exact constraints of the waterfall is not clear based on aerial imagery and topographic data, due to how steep the stream is). Some sources suggest a height of as much as 185 meters, though this may be taking into account part or most of the drop of Drivandefossen which is located just a few hundred meters upstream from Krekafossen.Krekafossen is often confused as an alternate name for Driveandefossen due to their proximity to one another, but the names do in fact apply to separate waterfalls.
