About This Waterfall
Light Gulch Falls is a plunging style waterfall which drops at least 320 feet (but may be as much as 400 feet tall) in height along Bear Run, itself a tributary to Parachute Creek in the Parachute Creek Canyon complex. The stream may be seasonal but there may also be springs in the area ensuring a year-round flow. The falls are within land which is actively mined for Oil Shale and Natural Gas deposits by several large energy companies (Unocal, Exxon and Shell among others) and is not thought to be accessible to the public.
