About This Waterfall
Seen at the end of the Zion Canyon Road, directly across from the Temple of Sinawava shuttle bus stop, the unnamed stream in Telephone Canyon can be seen hurtling 750 feet out of a slot canyon not more than 5 feet wide. Like most waterfalls in Zion National Park, Sinawava Falls are functionally ephemeral and depend on precipitation for sustained flow. The falls are most impressive after a passing thunderstorm, but will flow for a longer sustained period when the winter snow is melting from the Kolob Plateau - in either case the falls should be assumed to be quite short lived, perhaps persisting only for a matter of days before running dry again.
