About This Waterfall

Emerald Pools is one of the more famous attractions in Zion Canyon. The stream occupying Heeps Canyon creates a lofty waterfall as it plunges out of a narrow slot canyon, falling around 500 feet to the floor of Zion Canyon and the upper Emerald Pool. Like most of the waterfalls in this part of the state, the falls are dependant on precipitation and will run dry quickly during the summer except when a passing thunderstorm briefly brings it back to life.
