About This Waterfall
Johnston Canyon is located 17 ½ kilometers west of the eastern terminus of the Bow Valley Parkway (a total of about 20 kilometers from downtown Banff). The falls are found just under 2 km from the trailhead. In between Lower and Upper Johnston Canyon Falls lie three obscurely named, but heavily photographed waterfalls along Johnston Creek. This is the second of the three that is encountered, located about 2 kilometers from the trailhead. The falls are about 20 feet tall, dropping over a wide uniform ledge. A sign near the trailhead proclaims this waterfall has having been named at some time, but for whom isn't currently clear.
